God, Is that You? | Jeremiah 21:1-14

Jeremiah 21:1-14 “God, Is that You?”

God placed two paths before Jeremiah’s audience: way of life and the way of death. How can you
tell the difference? How can you recognize the path that God is wanting you to take from the one he
does not want You to take?

Three actions to consider as you determine to know the will of God…
Confess To God And Correct Any Hindrances To Hearing His Voice (3-7)
Known hindrances to hearing God
1. A stale walk with God
2. Unconfessed sin
3. A busy or distracted heart
4. A rebellious spirit; unbelief
5. Rejecting God’s messengers
6. Listening only for what I want to hear
7. Untrained to listen

Evaluate Your Choices/ Decision By The Characteristics Of God’s Will (8-10)
1. God’s will is consistent with the Scriptures
2. God’s will can be in conflict with human wisdom—logic.
3. God’s will can clash with fleshly nature
4. God’s will challenges our faith
5. God’s will calls for an act of courage
6. God’s will stimulates our spiritual growth.
7. God’s will provides peace (Colossians 3:15)

Sit Before God To Prepare Your Heart For Hearing
Jeremiah knew when God was speaking. He had learned those prompts.
Make these commitments to God as you prepare you heart for hearing:
1. I will worship and praise God for His omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence.
2. I will not worry because I Trust the promise that those who are asking, seeking, and
knocking will be answered—
3. I will obey and rejoice in God’s will even if I do not like it
4. I will Be ready to learn all that needs to be learned beyond the specifics of what I am
asking for
5. I will Be patient and prompt and not careless and hasty—
6. I will faithfully continue doing what I know I should be doing, and not get tunnel vision
7. I will consider it strength to submit to God’s will when it challenges my will.
8. I will remember that as I honestly seek His will, God will shut doors I should not go
through—
9. I will prayerfully consider the counsel from godly counselors.
10. I will guard my emotions but not reject my emotions
11. I will watch out for boats heading to Tarshish
12. I will pray and fast until I can see God’s will clearly
13. I will praise God as a worshiper when He reveals His will to me (Daniel 2:19…)

Don’t Be Ashamed When Your King and Culture Views Christianity As A Threat | Jeremiah 22:1-9

We share several struggles with Jeremiah. His king and culture tried to silence his sermons and message. His king and culture did not love God nor God’s people. His king and culture tolerated and imposed perversions and paganism into society. Jeremiah lived in a decadent society with low morals, addiction to pleasure, money, fame.

“For the people of God to be regarded as immoral and dangerous is not new.”
Encourage and exhort you my brother and sister to NOT BE ASHAMED

DO NOT BE ASHAMED TO WALK INTO THE DARKNESS AND SHINE HIS LIGHT (1-2)
GOD GIVE US CALLING, CONVICTION, COURAGE, CONVERTS

DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF THE BIBLE (1-2)

DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF GODS ETHICAL AND MORAL EXPECTATIONS (3)
Two significant threats facing Christian churches and families: Secular Humanism and Cultural Marxism.

DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF YOUR JESUS (8-9)
STAND ON TRUE HOPE
"To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ: May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you” (Jude 1-2)
BUILD STRONG FAITH FAMILIES
CULTIVATE HEALTHY CHURCHES
SERVE YOUR WAY TO YOUR FUTURE HOME
