This week, Veritas members Daniel & Tabitha Stands join hosts Ryan Hennigan and Michael Bashaw to share their experience serving with My Village Ministries here in Ohio!

My Village Ministries (MVM) seeks to come alongside families in crisis and provide community and support to help them get to the other side. They do this by placing children with host families for a short period of time, providing coaching and training for parents, and welcoming those who are isolated into a Christ-centered community.

We're so grateful for the ways members of our church serve families in our city through our partnership with MVM!

Fast forward to now, she serves as the Short North Deacon of Young Adult Ministry—and is passionate about fostering community by bringing young adults together every month for fellowship and equipping!

She sat down with podcast hosts Ryan Hennigan and Michael Bashaw to share what it looked like to follow God’s leading in starting this ministry, what the process to become a deacon looked like, and how God is specifically at work amongst the Young Adults at Veritas Short North!

We think you’ll be encouraged by her story…

We loved this opportunity to hear all about how God has guided him to pursue ministry while using his love of engineering to meet needs across the globe.

On this episode, we’re joined by Executive Director Courtney Schmackers, who explains how SHAN works to equip communities to understand, prevent, and respond to human trafficking with dignity and wisdom.

Courtney shares her personal journey into the work, how She Has A Name prioritizes long-term relationship building, and what it looks like to equip our city to join in.

We also unpack common misconceptions around human trafficking and explore the organization’s partnership with Veritas!

If this episode sparks a desire to learn more, consider joining SHAN for their upcoming training: Fighting Human Trafficking 101.

Their story is beautiful evidence of God's care for the littlest of details of their lives, equipping them through it all for the work he is calling them to.

We hope you'll take some time to learn more about the work they will be doing, and join the Veritas family in prayer for them as they prepare!

In this week’s episode, Veritas members Andrew and Rebecca Williams share how their own college years—marked by curiosity, questions, and a growing desire to follow Christ—shaped the path they’re walking today. What started as a personal search for faith eventually led them to serve on staff with CRU, the very ministry that helped them encounter Jesus during such a pivotal season of life.

Join us as they reflect on God’s faithfulness to them, living on mission, serving globally in the UK, and seeing the gospel reach the next generation!

In this episode, they share how God answered prayers, opened doors, and worked through the faithfulness of ordinary people stepping out in obedience to see lives transformed by the gospel!

How do our elders prepare sermons? What’s the difference between preaching and teaching? And what does it look like to prepare faithfully in community with other pastors and staff?

Join us as we explore the heart behind preaching and are reminded of God’s faithfulness to work through the proclamation of His gospel. We're thankful for elders who love the word of God and desire to proclaim it faithfully every single week!

As we walk through Advent together this year, we hope this conversation meets you in your waiting—bringing encouragement and understanding!

Today, by the grace of God, both serve on staff at The Refuge, dedicating their days to helping other men find healing, community, and ultimately a relationship with God.

We sat down with them to learn more about The Refuge ministry, which partners closely with Veritas West, and to hear their personal stories of walking through the addiction recovery process. This is an episode you won’t want to miss!

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, don’t hesitate to reach out to The Refuge to learn more!

In this episode, Brad and Scarlett Snyder, Casaundra Courtright, and Mark Ferch reflect on the history of this partnership, share stories from their time in Nepal, and talk about how they were personally impacted by witnessing God at work through His church in a remote village halfway around the world.

Community groups at Veritas are a beautiful way in which we do life together—belonging to one another.

Community Group Leaders Ryan Coholich & Andrew Tate share their heart for community groups, why they’re so valuable to the life of our church, and what goes into leading one in their own experience!

We’re thankful for the many unique individuals that God uses to lead, grow, and multiply community groups here at Veritas.

Having gone through The Refuge’s addiction recovery program themselves, both men now serve on staff at The Refuge.

We’re grateful for another opportunity to learn about how God is using The Refuge to transform lives!
